Self-Saucing Chocolate Pudding

Are you looking for an easy family dinner pudding? Or a yummy dessert for a dinner party? Look no further, as I introduce to you the self-saucing pudding. Those of you who are avid viewers of the Great British Bake Off (and if not, why not?) may recognise the concept of a self saucing pudding. If not, it’s fairly self explanatory!

This delicious, rich, chocolaty pudding is super easy for anyone capable of baking a cake. One Sunday afternoon as I tried to think of something to bake for Sunday lunch dessert, I came across this recipe by Sarah Cook.

I cooked with what was available in the cupboards and so missed out the ‘jaffa’ as I didn’t have any oranges. I’m sure it would be just as delicious with, though. The pudding serves 8, but any leftovers are great warmed up.

As Sarah Cook states in her recipe, it does look really weird when you pour the liquid over a fairly normal cake mixture…but have faith, it’s delicious!
